Mitsuko Miyake Nelan

Mitsuko is a native Japanese speaker, born, raised, and educated entirely in Tokyo.

She moved to Ireland in 2009 and has been living there for 16 years. Before leaving Japan, she earned a Master’s degree in Japanese Literature from Chofu University in Tokyo.

In 2016, Mitsuko co-founded Japanology Kerry Consulting Ltd with her husband, Tom. Later that year, she became a member of the Irish Translators and Interpreters Association (I.T.I.A.) and has been translating professionally ever since.
 

Tom Nelan

Tom is a native English speaker, born and raised in Ireland. He qualified from University College Cork in 2015 with First Class Honours in Asian Business Studies and has lived in Tokyo for three years.

Tom initially studied business and marketing at M.T.U., earning a Bachelor of Business Studies (Marketing) degree. He later pursued law at University College Cork, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Civil Law degree. Tom also passed the New York Bar Exam and is licensed to practice as an Attorney-at-Law in the State of New York.

When not co-proofreading documents, Tom manages the customer service and operations side of the business.
